With Epic Games’ MOBA Paragon due to shut down on April 26, the developer has decided to release over $12 million in the game’s assets to Unreal Engine developers everywhere.

Epic is switching most of its studio to focus on the smash hit Fortnite: Battle Royale, and Paragon has also never really garnered much of a player base. The game will be gone for good next month, but thanks to this announcement, developers will have access to a ton of AAA-quality content.

All of the content is now available on the Unreal Engine marketplace, and it includes things like characters and skins, animations, visual effects, dialogue, and over 1,500 environment components.

“For those interested in importing Paragon characters into their projects, Epic recommends starting with Shinbi, who comes with an animation Blueprint,” said Epic. “This can be used as a framework for animating the other characters in the Paragon packs. Epic is also shipping a sample map that is handy for testing and can be used as a baseline for creating more customized environments.”

Plus, even more content is still to come. Epic plans to release “millions of dollars worth of additional Paragon asset packs” beyond this initial $12 million offering throughout the summer of 2018.

Paragon, in spite of its failure, is still a truly beautiful game with some cool-looking and interesting characters. It’s good to know that the well-designed assets will not go to waste.
