Focus Home Interactive and the development team behind the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. franchise have announced Fear the Wolves, a post-apocalyptic Battle Royale game that is coming to PC and consoles this year. The Battle Royale gaming space has exploded in the recent year, with games like PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds and Fortnite breaking all kinds of records. Is there room for another contender? To say that the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. team has experience with desolate and post-apocalyptic games would be the understatement of the year.

Fear the Wolves – Battle Royale Style

Fear the Wolves drops players, in squads or as lone wolves, into the oppressive environments of a radiation-ravaged Chernobyl. The classic Battle Royale mode forces them to fight to be the last man standing out of 100 fighters. A second intense and original game mode will also bring a fierce new twist to the genre.

Unlike most Battle Royale games, players in Fear the Wolves will have to worry about more than just the other participants. Given the harsh and toxic environments, players will have to learn to survive the elements, including some rather nasty and radiation-affected creatures. The game will feature a full day-night cycle and challenge players to adapt to a multitude of situations and dangers.

Only scant details about what to expect are known at this time, but the developers at Vostok Games will be revealing more at the next “Le What’s Next de Focus” press event in Paris this February. In the meantime, you can find more information about Fear the Wolves on the official website and their Twitter account @FTW_thegame. Of course, we’ll also keep an eye out here and hit you up with news and more information as we receive it.
