You won’t have to worry about any periods of dullness in Fortnite: Battle Royale’s new limited time mode, Blitz. It’s a faster-paced take on the already-awesome formula that emphasizes speed and fills you with a sense of panic and urgency.
Before you even jump off of the battle bus, the storm circle is there and it’s ready to ruin your game. Because of this, all 100 players will need to condense themselves within the circle or somewhere near it, or run the risk of being ticked down immediately due to the two minute countdown. You have 30 seconds to land, as well.
There will most likely be more players around you than you’re used to, but that’s a big part of Blitz’s appeal. You will land, you will find loot, and you will fight. The loot is everywhere, and chests are most likely going to spawn in their spots, so you shouldn’t run into an issue of being unarmed against a squad with shotguns.
After that, things slow down just a bit, as the next circle will have a two minute period before it begins to move again. But the tension doesn’t stop, because you know that it’ll be time to move very soon again. You won’t need to worry about farming materials too much, either, because you get double the materials in this mode.
Blitz is very much so about surviving the first few minutes of the game, because the action does normalize after that, but the fast-moving circles and increased loot makes this the most fun iteration of Fortnite yet.
