Genshin Impact Version 2.7 rumored to be getting a delay

Players may get the next update at a later date.

Genshin Impact is a live service game that receives updates every six weeks, giving players something to look forward to in a consistent schedule. However, extenuating circumstances may lead to a delay in the next version of Genshin Impact, with rumors and speculation abound that the upcoming update will receive a delay, possibly as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

Fans initially noticed that a traveling merchant (Liben) event would run from May 6 to May 13, right after the Leyline event which doubles the number of rewards you get from Leyline challenges. However, this Leyline event was originally supposed to be the final event of Version 2.6.

Additionally, this leak states that HoYoverse is planning a re-run banner of Arataki Itto and Xiao as a last-minute banner to tide the gap between Versions 2.6 and 2.7. This could also explain why Battle Pass experience requirements were lessened in the game’s Version 2.7 beta test, as players would have less time to complete the pass due to a delay.

Leakers and players alike reasoned this potential delay due to the Coronavirus situation in Shangai, China, where HoYoverse’s headquarters is located. However, no official news came from the company in regards to a delay, so remember to take these rumors with a grain of salt.
