It’s release date and special edition pre-order price announcement time for God of War. The game will arrive on April 20, 2018 and gamers will be able to choose from a variety of special editions depending on their need for goodies.
Sony’s Santa Monica studio has announced the release date for the much anticipated God of War game and it’s happening sooner than we anticipated. God of War will arrive on PlayStation 4s world-wide on April 20, 2018. Details on the various pre-order options have also been released and you can now throw your money in Sony’s general direction, should you so choose.
Story Trailer
If you’re itching to see more of God of War, the newly release story trailer gives you a small taste of what’s to come. This is one of the big release of the year, folks, and the fact that we’ll get to play it in just a few short months is exciting!
Pre-Order Bonuses
Regardless of the type of pre-order you may place, you will receive three legendary shield skins to help you bash enemies in style. If you should choose to pre-order from GameStop or EB Games, you would receive the Luck of Ages XP Boost, which grants +10 Luck and has 1 Enchantment Slot. Luck influences your XP and Hacksilver gains and increases the chance to proc a perk.
If you’re into getting some physical goodies to display proudly in your game room, Sony is offering three special editions of God of War, ranging in price from $69.99 to $149.99 USD or $89.99 to $199.99 CAD. Editor’s note: That conversion to Canadian Dollars is grossly over-priced. Shame.
Digital Deluxe Edition
The most affordable of the special editions, the Digital Deluxe Edition keeps the game in digital format and features a digital comic and art book. US and Canadian addresses will also get a unique, limited-run physical pin.
Collector’s Edition
The Collector’s Edition includes a 9″ Kratos & Atreus statue, a Steelbook Case, exclusive Lithograph, Cloth Map, and 2″ Huldra Brothers carvings. Not a bad looking display piece!
Stone Mason Edition
The Stone Mason Edition is the big daddy of God of War special editions. It includes everything from the other two editions, as well as a Stone Mason’s Ring, more carvings, a Mimir’s Head Talking keychain, and a unique digital shield.
Lots to digest here, folks, but we’re excited that God of War will be upon us on April 20th and we’ll be getting those PlayStation 4s ready to bring you plenty of coverage here at TL;DR Games. Stay tuned!
