The wait for the newest God of War won’t have you seething with rage like Kratos. PlayStation announced today that the highly anticipated sequel will be releasing on April 20.
To celebrate the announcement, the team at Sony Santa Monica also revealed a brand new story trailer, which can be seen below. Fair warning, though, it has some mild story and cutscene spoilers.
The announcement confirmed the existence of the $150 Stone Mason Edition of the game, as well as a slightly cheaper Collector’s Edition. Both come with an awesome statue, a steelbook, and digital content.
Sony also announced pre-order bonuses for the game, which are three legendary shield skins for Kratos. Pre-ordering at GameStop or EB Games will also get you a Luck of Ages XP boost, which grants +10 Luck and has one Enchantment slot.
The newest God of War sees Kratos starting over, presumably some time after the events of God of War III, after he finished slaughtering the Gods of Olympus and quenching his thirst for revenge. In the new title, Kratos will be taking on Norse mythology with his young son, Atreus, who will be present throughout the game.
