Insurgency is back with a brand new sequel in Insurgency: Sandstorm and is bringing a lot of new features with it. Insurgency: Sandstorm will release for the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One later this year.
Insurgency is back and this time it’s bringing a whole lot more action with it. A teaser trailer for Insurgency: Sandstorm was released today, showcasing some impressive looking game play featuring upgraded graphics thanks to the Unreal Engine 4.
While Insurgency was PC only, Insurgency: Sandstorm will also be coming to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One when it launches later this year. New co-op and PvP objective based game modes will be added while retaining the lethal tactical action from the original.
You’ll fight across the battlefield utilizing game play mechanics that blur the lines between reality and shooter. Each weapon will have unique ballistic calculations like bullet drop and penetration power. You’ll be able to drop magazines for faster reloads, carefully open doors to keep quiet, bash doors down with a shoulder charge, and much more.
Insurgency: Sandstorm will bring large scale battles in 16 versus 16 skirmishes with artillery barrages, helicopter gunships, re-purposed commercial drones, air strikes, and usable land transport vehicles. Each map and mode will also be available to play against bots in co-op if you don’t feel like playing against other people. Other new features coming to Insurgency: Sandstorm include character customization, ranked matches, and more.
Insurgency: Sandstorm is coming out later this year for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. As someone who hasn’t played a lot of first person shooters in the past few years, this one looks like it might be worth checking out. Watch the teaser trailer for yourself and let us know what you think.
