The Mythical Pokémon Jirachi is now available in Pokémon GO via Special Research, and Unova Pokémon are set to come to the game soon as part of recently unlocked Ultra Bonuses
Players of Pokémon GO have recently completed all three parts of the game’s latest Global Challenge, opening up several Ultra Bonuses to start taking effect over the coming weeks.
For the first week of Ultra Bonuses, from Sept. 2 at 1:00 pm PT to Sept. 9 at 1:00 pm PT, the week will focus on Johto Pokémon. It will be possible (but very unlikely) for trainers to hatch U, L, T, R, and A Unown from 10km Eggs during this time, Shiny Sentret and Gligar will start appearing in the wild, and various Johto Pokémon, including the Legendary Suicune, Raikou, and Entei, will appear as Raid Bosses. Also, Egg Incubators will be twice as effective this week, hatching Eggs at half the usual amount of time they usually take to hatch.
The next week, from Sept. 9 at 1:00 pm PT to Sept. 16 at 1:00 pm PT, all forms of Deoxys will start appearing as Raid Bosses in regular Raids, making it the first time they can be caught outside of EX Raids. Also starting this week, the traditionally region-specific Pokémon Farfetch’d, Kangaskhan, Mr. Mime, and Tauros will all be able to be hatched from 7km Eggs. These Pokémon will still be able to be hatched from 7km Eggs until the end of the following week on Sept. 23 at 1:00 pm PT. Egg Incubators will also retain their double effectiveness this week.
For the third and final week of Ultra Bonuses, set to take place from Sept. 16 at 1:00 pm PT to Sept. 23 at 1:00 pm PT, Mewtwo will start appearing in Raids with the move Psystrike. Unova Pokémon will also begin appearing in the game for the first time during this week, with Klink appearing in Raids and Patrat and Lillipup appearing in the wild—it will also be possible to find Shiny versions of these three Unova Pokémon. Egg Incubators will still be twice as effective as well.
But that’s not all of the Pokémon GO news. As of today (Aug. 20), the Psychic/Steel-type Mythical Pokémon from the Hoenn region Jirachi is now available to all trainers via Special Research. As with previous Mythical Pokémon, trainers will have to go through a slew of Special Research that involves things like catching a certain number of Pokémon and making new friends before eventually getting the chance to catch Jirachi.
