We’ve been waiting for so long for this moment, and finally, it’s here. Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics have shared the Marvel’s Avengers gameplay demo they promised a few weeks ago right at Gamescom, and you can watch it below.

Listen, let’s be frank — the trailer we’ve watched at E3 2019 was quite disappointing, and people weren’t commenting harshly only on characters’ faces (which were frustrating as well). Now, we have a chance to have a better look at what’s coming with the title next year.

As you can see, Crystal Dynamics hasn’t worked on a specific demo for the German event, it’s the same gameplay they’ve been showing at E3 and San Diego Comic-Con all the way, but at least you can check it in a more polished fashion and on-screen.

Saying it with the words of the Marvel’s Avengers‘ YouTube channel, “in this tutorial level, the Avengers must defend San Francisco after a mysterious attack threatens the safety of the city.” So it’s more a way to get in the mood of the title more than a proper showcase of what’s in the final game.

Just in case you missed those previous events, the demo is set on the A-Day, a day that was supposed to celebrate Avengers’ greatness but ended in tragedy. The demo shows a very early portion in the full game and is playable at Gamescom with players able to switch between Captain America, Iron Man, Hulk, and Black Widow.

As for the release, we’ve been told at E3 2019 that it’s coming on May 15, 2020, on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, so if you’re a fan of the Avengers, you should mark that date on your calendars; if you’ve enjoyed the gameplay here.
