Monster Hunter World: Iceborne has hardly been out long enough for most players to finish all of its new content. The developers already have a major update announcement for the game. Capcom previously announced that the powerful, electrically charged ape-like monster Rajang is coming to Iceborne soon. Now they’ve revealed that a whole new region is coming, too.

First spotted by Gematsu, the details of the new update in Monster Hunter World: Iceborne includes mention of a new “Volcanic region” coming to the game:

In addition, there’s more to explore in the Guiding Lands as a new Volcanic region appears. Delve deep into this new region to obtain materials to further customize your weapons and armor!

Nothing else is known about the new volcanic region yet. It’s likely the same lava-filled area we got a quick glimpse of in Rajang’s reveal trailer. It will likely be quite different from the snowy setting of Hoarfrost Reach, where more of Iceborne currently takes place. We do know the location of the new region, though: it’s getting added to the late-game Guiding Lands area. Given the revelation that new areas are on the way to the Guiding Lands, there’s a good chance that even more environments could come in future updates.

If a new monster and a whole new area aren’t enough for one update, it’s also bringing new social features to Iceborne. The player’s room is getting a new equipment display and music player to customize the decor further. For the first time, hunters won’t have to enjoy it alone. The update allows players to invite others into their room to admire their armor collection.

Iceborne’s Rajang update is set to release on Oct. 10 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The PC version of Iceborne is still in the works, with an expected release date of Jan. 2020. Due to the delayed content schedule of the base Monster Hunter World game on PC, it will likely be another month after release before it sees this update.
