Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered was announced in a humorous reveal trailer, which was posted on the Need for Speed YouTube channel on Monday, October 5. It will feature enhanced visuals and include all six main DLC packs from the original title. Those expansions will add an additional six hours’ worth of content to the remaster, and more than 30 challenges for players to try and conquer.

Asynchronous, cross-platform multiplayer, powered by Autolog, will enable players to connect and compete with their friends across all editions of Hot Pursuit Remastered, as well as share their experiences, in-game images, and challenges with one another.

“Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit was ahead of its time when it released in 2010 as we built an automatic comparison and friend recommendation system in the game before that type of thing became a norm in today’s world,” Criterion Games’ Vice-President Matt Webster said in a statement. “Now, we’re delighted to be bringing that spirit of timeless racing competition back to new platforms and players where they can connect, compare and compete no matter what platform they’re on, even on the go this time with the Nintendo Switch.”

Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered will be supported post-launch with additional content, including car wraps that will increase the customization options available to players. Pre-order is available now on the game’s official website.
