RuneScape developer Jagex Limited is releasing Old School RuneScape on mobile. Old School RuneScape will be released on iOS and Android on Oct. 30, the developer announced today.

The massively multiplayer online-role playing game was first released in February 2013  for PC. The mobile version will support cross-platform play with PC. Pre-orders are open now on the App Store and Google Play store. The team held a “members only” beta earlier this year, with a soft launch in Canada and certain Nordic countries. More than 500,000 Android players have tried out the game thus far.

“Today’s announcement coincides with the launch of Old School RuneScape’s 139th quest: Making Friends with My Arm,” Jagex director of game developer Conor Crowley said in a statement, “where players will assist the maligned troll ‘My Arm’ as he tries to establish relations with the troll town, Weiss. Mobile players will be able to help My Arm out, as well as experience the many thousands of hours of available adventures, mini games, and skilling activities Old School RuneScape has to offer, in just a matter of weeks.”

The fantasy MMO RuneScape was originally released in 2001. It remained popular for some time. Old School RuneScape was released in 2013 as a replacement game, originally an exact copy of the 2007 version of Runescape, but later updated with improvements and new content.

Updates on Old School RuneScape’s mobile release are expected as the development team “near[s] the full release,” Jagex said.
