With PlayStation Classic rapidly approaching, we get to learn details about the console itself and the games coming with it.
We already know the lineup of course, but as the days go by we obtain particulars abou how these games are rendered in the hardware.
The detail we learn today won’t be really appreciated by the PlayStation community, as it is about the smoothness of the gameplay from these titles.
- Battle Arena Toshinden*
- Cool Boarders 2
- Destruction Derby*
- Grand Theft Auto*
- Jumping Flash!*
- Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee*
- Resident Evil Director’s Cut*
- Tekken 3*
- Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six*
Indeed, these games are reported to be rendered at 50Hz, which means those are grabbed from the European releases.
As you might know, NTSC, the North American standard, renders the game with a feeling of smoothness which is superior in comparison with PAL.
The lineup is composed of 20 titles of course, so the others are probably the best versions possible out there (although we don’t have any confirm).
PlayStation Classic is coming December 3, 2018.
As I was able to confirm (simply by eyeballing early videos), Tekken 3 on the PlayStation Classic is the unplayable PAL version 🙁 I was hoping to start enjoying that game again, too since it was never re-released (only the arcade version was included in T5).
