The new version of Pokemon GO has implemented the gender differences for Eevee.
Wondering what gender the Eevee you just captured in Pokemon GO is? Well, now you can tell the difference with the new version of the mobile game.
As confirmed by Serebii, a massive Pokemon website, on Twitter, when you look at your Eevee, you will now be able to see what gender it is by the pattern of the tail. If the lines of the tail’s tip are straight, it is a boy, and if they are curved, it’s a girl.

With the exception of Nidoran in Generation I, gender differences in Pokemon weren’t introduced until Generation IV. Later generations would implement less Pokemon with gender differences, but the ones that did exist had drastic differences in appearance. Some Pokemon have difference abilities based on what gender they are. For example, Meowstic has a different Hidden Ability and learns different moves depending on its gender.
While not being a drastic change to the game, this inclusion is a nice touch for fans who were looking for this implementation to come into the game.
Pokemon GO is available now on Android and iOS.
