Pokémon Masters will release later this year with more info coming soon.
Pokémon Masters, a game featuring famous characters from past and present Pokémon titles is coming to Android and IOS later this year.
Players will be able to interact with legendary trainers as you team up to battle in a new, three-on-three format.
Trainers like Blue are shown talking to the player, while others like Brock and Misty are teaming up with the player character against three other characters. In battle, players will select whether to use an item or have their Pokémon use a move while facing one of the opposing teams Pokémon.
It is unclear right now if players will be able to control their teammates along with their own Pokémon, but an early look at the battle system doesn’t appear to show any access to their moves. The gameplay will be optimized for smartphones, meaning it will likely focus on one-handed gameplay that allows players to swipe between options during battle.
This title was actually formed from a suggestion from Game Freak’s Ken Sugimori who wanted to create a game featuring all past and present trainers from all the video games.
More details about the specifics of Pokémon Masters will be revealed in June, and it will be released later this year.
