Meltan’s evolution—Melmetal— has been revealed

Meltan, the latest Pokemon that is set to debut in the upcoming Pokemon Let’s Go series, is getting an evolution. This will make Meltan the first mythical Pokemon capable of evolution in the series history.

Melmetal, as it is known, is the evolution of Meltan. It can execute a powerful, unique Steel-type physical move known as Double Iron Bash.. The weight of the heavy hex nuts on its arms combined with the spinning motion gives the Double Iron Bash move extraordinary power.

Trainers will only be able to get Melmetal by catching Meltan in the mobile game Pokemon Go. You will need to have 400 Meltan Candies to evolve it, just like other Pokémon in the game.

The only way to obtain Meltan and the candy is by catching Meltan after opening a Mystery Box item that is yet to be added to the game. Trainers can also get Meltan candy by sending Meltan from their mobile devices to the Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! or Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! video games.
