Learn which bonuses your Pokémon will gain when leveling up, how to get them, and how to maximize bonuses.
Pokémon Quest, available for Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android, is a charming adventure that sends you to Tumblecube Island to befriend and battle with cute, blocky Pokémon.
While not nearly as complex as mainline Pokémon games, Pokémon Quest does offer a fair bit of the statistical optimization that diehard fans of the series have come to love. Instead of breeding for perfect IVs or training for optimal EVs, you will instead increase your Pokémon’s power by optimizing its Power Stones (fully detailed in this guide, and their Bingo Bonuses), which we’re deep diving into with this guide.
Read on to learn how Bingo Bonuses in Pokémon Quest work and how you can max these bonuses for your Pokémon!
What are Bingo Bonuses?
Bingo Bonuses are extra bonuses that your Pokémon can earn by completing a row of Power Stones in their Power Charm. You can complete a row vertically or horizontally, but diagonal stone arrangements won’t count. You will randomly unlock additional Power Charm slots on each Pokémon by leveling up, and every Pokémon will always have unlocked its full Power Charm by level 100.
How are Bingo Bonuses determined?
Every Pokémon in the game has a set assortment of potential Bingo Bonuses. Bingo Bonuses will be randomly granted from a pool of available bonuses for a specific Pokémon. Each Pokémon will gain one of three set bonuses for each Bingo Bonus slot upon completing a Bingo. Pokémon will typically have Bingo Bonuses that are beneficial to their specific type moves. For example, Alakazam may have the Bingo Bonus “ATK of Psychic-Type Moves (%).”
What are the possible Bingo Bonuses my Pokémon can gain?
There are a total of 20 different types of Bingo Bonuses available in Pokémon Quest. Not every Pokémon will have access to all bonuses, as each Pokémon has only a set pool of available bonuses. Here’s all of the potential stat and attribute changes from Bingo Bonuses. It’s worth noting that not all of these bonuses are displayed in your Pokémon’s “Strength” menu.
- ATK (+stat)
- ATK of [move type] (+%)
- Critical Hit Damage (+%)
- Critical Hit Rate (+%)
- Damage reduced from [type] Moves (-%)
- Healing from K.O. (+%)
- Healing per Wave (+%)
- Hit Healing (+%)
- HP (+stat)
- HP upon Recovery (+%)
- Movement Speed (+%)
- Natural Healing (+%)
- Own Knockback Distance (-%)
- Pokemon size change (-/+%)
- Resistance to ↓ Effects (-%)
- Resistance to Status Conditions (+%)
- Taking Critical Hits rate (-%)
- Time to Recover (-%)
- [Type] Moves Wait (-%)
- Wait for Standard Attacks (-%)
Moves in Pokémon Quest use the same move types as traditional Pokémon games, so you can replace “type” above with an applicable move type, such as Psychic, Fire, Normal, etc.
How do you get different Bingo Bonuses?
There is no way to randomly “reroll” a Bingo Bonus. You’ll either get the best bonus in the slot, or you don’t. However, the Bingo Bonuses of some unevolved Pokémon will change to a different bonus once that Pokémon has evolved. This change is not random; as stated before, at every Bingo Bonus row, there are three potential Bingo Bonuses. If a specific Pokémon’s Bingo Bonus changes on evolution, it will always change to the same alternative bonus for that bonus in that slot.
For example, one of the potential bonuses for Staryu’s third Bingo slot is “ATK +500.” Upon evolution to Starmie, this bonus will always change to “ATK of Water Type Moves +30%.” You can find a full list of all of the potential Bingo Bonuses and their evolved equivalents in this amazing spreadsheet maintained by reddit user billabong2121.
The Bingo Bonus change may not always appear optimal to the overall power of the Pokémon. Many Pokémon who have percentage based Bingo Bonuses will see that percentage lowered upon evolution. Using our friend Staryu again as an example, its “Water Type Moves Wait -20%” will change to “Water Type Moves Wait -15%” upon evolution to Starmie.
However, since an evolved Pokémon will typically gain access to better abilities and feature higher stats, this isn’t something to really worry too much about. Generally speaking, these bonuses that see a reduction are typically the best bonus for each slot anyway, even when that bonus is decreased upon evolution.
Maxing your bonuses with Bingos and Power Stones
It’s worth noting that there are maximums to every statistical bonus available in the game (even ATK and HP, which max at 9999 each). This includes all of the stats listed in the “Strength” column in each Pokémon’s detailed profile (where you’ll also see its Power Charm and Bingo Bonuses). All of these stats can be increased by both Bingo Bonuses and Power Stones.
It’s important to note that all bonuses have a maximum effect, and any increase of stats beyond that stat’s maximum is wasted. You cannot exceed these maximums with Bingo Bonuses. Therefore, it’s important to keep an eye on bonuses provided by both Power Stones and Bingo Bonuses, as it may be favorable to swap out the stone. Here are the hard caps for all stats:
- Critical Hit Rate (%) – 100%
- Critical Hit Damage (%) – 100%
- Natural Healing (%) – 300%
- Hit Healing (%) – 10%
- Healing from K.O. (%) – 50%
- Time to Recover (%) – 50%
- HP upon Recovery (%) – 50%
- Resistance to ↓ Effects – 100%
- Resistance to Status Conditions – 100%
- Movement Speed – 200%
Keep in mind that these bonuses increase the percent of each effect by using a base for that effect. This means that +100% Critical Hit Rate will not guarantee that you always critical hit, but instead will increase the Pokémon’s critical hit chance by 100 percent of its base chance.
