Prismatic Lens is coming to Hearthstone’s The Boomsday Project, and players can use it to swap a minion card’s Mana cost with a spell’s price.
Hearthstone’s reveals for The Boomsday Project are reaching their conclusion, but yet another powerful card was just revealed on content creator ChanmanV’s Twitch stream. At 2pm CT today during a round of Streamer Showdown, the channel unveiled Prismatic Lens.
Prismatic Lens is an Epic Paladin spell that lets players draw a minion and a spell from their deck while swapping their costs. Costing only four Mana Crystals, this card is an incredibly strong draw, in part because it gives players the chance to quickly deploy cheap minions or affordable spells to turn the battle to their favor.
Admittedly, this card isn’t quite as predictable for players’ decks when compared to other reveals, such as Zerek’s Cloning Gallery. But it’s still strong enough to turn the tide during matches once it lands in early August.
It remains unclear for now whether Prismatic Lens will become a competitively viable part of Paladins’ decks once The Boomsday Project begins. For many, the card is an incredibly powerful addition to players’ decks, and it could end up landing in another class’ hands. Last week, TrumpSC revealed Academic Espionage for Hearthstone, which lets players steal cards from their opponent’s deck, even if their enemy is from a completely different class. It’s easy to see how Prismatic Lens could quickly land in a Rogue’s hands and cause some serious damage.
The Boomsday Project is the second expansion of the current Standard year, the Year of the Raven. It will add 135 new cards to the game, including new keywords like Magnetic. It is currently available to pre-order, with all the cards becoming available on Aug. 7.
