PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds will exit out of the Xbox Game Preview program and become a full release with its 1.0 update on Xbox One on Sept. 4.
The 1.0 update will include a number of bug fixes and optimizations on top of some new content, the main attraction being the new, smaller map called Sanhok. Coming with the new close quarters location is its dynamic weather, weapons, and vehicles.
The full release update will also include the popular War mode, which is a spin on team deathmatch. In War, players respawn by dropping back into the fray with a parachute just like the beginning of a regular match in the game.
Players who purchase the disc version of PUBG will get their own unique cosmetic set called Xbox #1.0/99, while Xbox Game Preview owners and digital purchasers will get a different set called Xbox #1.0. The former features a white and black leather jacket and green t-shirt, while the latter has a white hoodie and sweatpants.
Microsoft also announced a brand new PUBG-themed Xbox One controller, featuring trigger grips. It’s set to release on Oct. 30 for $69.99 and it will also include some controller-themed DLC to be fully detailed at a later date.
PUBG initially released onto Xbox One back in December 2017. It has since been updated and enhanced numerous times, and it’s now apparently ready to become a full game nearly nine months later.
