Rockstar Games hasn’t offered any statement on the technical side of the game thus far, but PlayStation Blog did share a few details on the PS4 Pro version when it revealed the bundles with the game.

Red Dead Redemption II Runs At Native 4K on Xbox One

“4K HDR TV owners will benefit from enhanced graphics and optimized performance for a stunningly sharp and detailed look (when compared to a PS4 system),” the official blog said.

That’s quite a nebulous statement from Sony since it doesn’t make it very clear whether the resolution will be native. Knowing the previous work on the console, our bet is in that case we’ll have checkerboard rendering.

As for how it affects the Xbox One X, we’re not even very convinced about the fact that the console will run the game at native 4K. It’s an open world title of amazing proportions and very high fidelity graphics, so it won’t be very easy to handle at that resolution.

Of course, everything will be clearer once the game and the first reviews drop on the day of the release, Oct. 26, even though by that time we won’t probably care about the graphics very much.
