Capcom has officially confirmed that Resident Evil 2 Remake will run not run at 60FPS on Xbox One X and PS4 if the player decides to play the game in 4K resolution.
One of the standouts reveal of E3 2018 was Capcom’s Resident Evil 2 Remake. Those of you who have missed out on the announcement can check out the video below. The graphics and visuals looked absolutely stunning all thanks to the Resident Evil game engine and the third-person perspective complimented it perfectly. With such an amazing tech in the hands of Capcom – fans started enquiring about just one thing – whether Resident Evil 2 Remake is going to run at 4K and 60FPS on Xbox One X and PlayStation 4 Pro?
The good news is that Capcom has replied to this query in a recent interview with our friend at GamingBolt. Capcom’s Mike Lunn confirmed that Xbox One X and PlayStation 4 Pro owners will be able to play the game at 4K resolution, but 60FPS option won’t be available at this resolution – at 4K resolution, the game will run at 30FPS.
“Players will be able to play on Xbox One X and PS4 Pro in 4K. But if you choose to play in 4K you won’t be able to play at 60 frames per second. So it will run at 30 FPS. It is a stable frame rate.”
When asked to share the same details for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One version, Mike Lunn replied: “Right now it is running at – We are targeting a high frame rate, but it’s still to be determined.”
It’s good to see that Capcom is doing everything possible in their hands to deliver a best possible Resident Evil 2 Remake experience for all console variants. We would really like to see some gameplay running on both Xbox One X and PS4 Pro at 4K resolution/30FPS and at a slightly lower resolution at 60FPS. Who knows few months down the line (YES, I am hinting at Gamescom 2018) and our wish is going to get fullied by Capcom.
