In Thursday’s Resident Evil Showcase, Capcom let out that Resident Evil Village will be releasing worldwide on May 7. Alongside its PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC versions, this latest installment will also come to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. For those on PS5, a demo is currently available for an exclusive taste of the game.
During the presentation, Capcom said that Resident Evil Village on PS4 and Xbox One will release on the same date as its other versions and provide a free upgrade to their respective next-gen consoles upon purchase. On top of these upgrades, all Resident Evil Village owners will be given its separate multiplayer spin-off, Resident Evil Re:Verse, free-of-charge, on May 7.
Producer Pete Fabiano has stated a demo will be releasing for all supported consoles in the spring, but those on PS5 now have access to the “Maiden” demo. He later explained that this Maiden demo is game’s separate journey but allows players to roam Castle Dimitrescu, a location within this upcoming sequel.
For those new to the franchise, a digital bundle featuring both Resident Evil Village and its predecessor, Resident Evil 7, will also come when Village releases.
