More than four years after its initial release into Steam’s early access program, Rust is about to become a full release title next month, according to a blog by the game’s developers at Facepunch Studios.

It’s been a long road since Rust became available on Dec. 11, 2013. Originally, the game had zombies and a very different aesthetic. After multiple updates, however, zombies are gone, and the game looks and functions very differently.

Although it’s an achievement in game development, Facepunch warns that this is just “business as usual” and there will be little pomp and circumstance when the game leaves early access on Feb. 8.

“Don’t think of this as us claiming that the game is done,” said studio founder Garry Newman, of Garry’s Mod fame. “Think of this as us saying that if Early Access didn’t exist we’d have released the game on Steam by now. We’re going to keep updating and improving the game.”

Rust is more of a hardcore survival experience, where thirst and hunger have to be taken into account while also building bases and fighting off the wilderness and other players.

It seems like the biggest part of the change is that the game will increase in price from $19.99 to $34.99. So if you’ve been holding off on picking Rust up for whatever reason, it seems like you’l be saving yourself some money if you do so before Feb. 8.

“Thanks to everyone that took the risk by buying our Early Access game,” Newman said. “It hasn’t always been the most stable, optimized, balanced experience – but we hope you don’t feel like we’ve let you down. Thank you for making our game better.”
