Back in October of 2020, San Diego Studios announced that fans of the MLB The Show franchise can expect to hear about the 2021 edition of the series once the calendar flipped to the new year. For the first two weeks of 2021, though, the studio made no announcements about the release date for the new game. That should change in the near future, as San Diego Studios announced on January 15 that players won’t need to wait much longer for the first details.
Through a tweet from the official MLB The Show Twitter account on January 15, San Diego Studios stated that news on MLB The Show 21 will come during the month of February.
While SDS is not tipping their hands on what will be released next month, it’s highly probable that the release date for MLB The Show 21 will be made publicly available at that time.
Additionally, we should also get an idea about whether the title will finally hit non-Sony platforms. Major League Baseball, along with the MLB Players Association and Sony, stated back in 2019 that The Show will be released for additional platforms as early as 2021. However, neither the MLB nor Sony have publicly confirmed that this will actually happen this year.
