The rebooted Tomb Raider video games were originally meant to be a trilogy and it doesn’t look like the plans are changing anytime soon, as the story of the young Lara Croft seems to have wrapped up with Shadow of the Tomb Raider.
In a recent interview, Lara’s voice and performer Camilla Luddington has shared that she’s always thought of it as a trilogy and that, as for what she knows, there won’t be any other games featuring her presence.
“When I started, I always knew that it was going to be a trilogy, so that’s how I thought of it. So I did leave thinking [Shadow of the Tomb Raider] could possibly be my last journey with Lara. But who knows!,” she said.
So it really looks like Shadow of the Tomb Raider is a transformative chapter for the series, as what follows might be totally different if not a brand new game with Lara Croft finally begun the heroine we’ve learned to know across the years.
Anyway, Luddington also added that she would be interested into being Lara Croft again for a TV series or movie, even though that doesn’t look probable since, at least for what matters movies, that role is Alicia Vikander’s.
“I would love to. I get asked about the Alicia Vikander movie, and I joke that I would have made a very pregnant and slow Lara Croft. But yeah, I think I would love to. But I also got the chance to be a part of [these games] and this is so iconic to me that I feel like I’ve done my part too,” she commented.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider is now available for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
