Simon Belmont and Richter Belmont from Konami’s Castlevania series are joining the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate roster collectively as the 66th character.

The two Belmonts were revealed during Nintendo’s Smash Bros. Ultimate direct earlier today and is the second Konami character to be represented in the roster. Snake from the Metal Gear series was Konami’s only character in Smash Bros. and was originally added to the series in Super Smash Bros. Brawl for the Wii. Mega Man was added as a representative of Capcom’s library in the 3DS and Wii U versions, with Ryu from Street Fighter added as downloadable content.

Nintendo had initially noted that the game would include 66 characters during their E3 presentation but had only shown off 65 characters. With Belmont’s reveal and four months to go until the game’s release, fans will be ripping up the wallpaper to discover if there are any more surprises.

Simon Belmont was initially leaked this morning when a video showcasing the Galaga medley was uploaded to Nintendo’s YouTube channel. The video, however, was mistakenly called “Bloody Tears / Monster Dance,” two songs that are well known in the Castlevania universe.

Nintendo changed the title of the video back to “Galaga Medley” shortly afterwards. But by then fans took notice and speculated that the fearless vampire hunter was trudging towards the Smash Bros. series.

Alongside the reveal of both characters, a brand new stage based on Castlevania has been added to the game as well as 30 pieces of music from the series.
