If you miss the old days of hunting down Xur, Agent of the Nine, every weekend in Destiny, you’re in luck—A big change is coming for ol’ tentacle-face starting with update 2.0 on Tuesday, Aug. 28.
Xur will no longer be displayed as a vendor icon in destination maps, Bungie revealed in its weekly blog post. Not only that, but his arrival won’t be tied to Flashpoint destinations either, so his location will be a complete mystery at each reset on Fridays.
For now, though, Xur has just two weekends left of old Exotics before he comes with the goodness on the first Friday after Forsaken launches.
Where is Xur?
For the final time, Xur is tied to the Flashpoint, which is Titan. That means he’s in his normal spot in The Rig section of the map, inside of a dark room.
In his inventory this weekend, Xur has Riskrunner. This SMG is special because, when taking Arc damage, the weapon’s power increases along with your resistance to Arc. When this happens, shots fired have the chance to become chain lightning and return ammo. It costs 29 Legendary Shards.
The only new-ish armor this weekend is Ophidia Spathe, a Hunter chest armor. This weapon’s dull perk is that it grants Gunslingers to throwing knives per charge. It’s on sale for 23 Legendary Shards.
For Titans, Xur has Mk. 44 Stand Asides. These are boots that grant an overshield when sprinting at full health with Seismic Strike, Hammer Strike, or Shield Bash equipped, and hits with those melee abilities recharge a portion of your melee energy. They cost 23 Legendary Shards.
Last but not least, Warlocks get Eye of Another World. This helmet that Xur has sold multiple times highlights priority targets and improves the regeneration speed of your grenade, melee, and Rift abilities. It costs 23 Legendary Shards.
