OtherSide Entertainment has just revealed a brand new gameplay teaser for System Shock 3, which, in case you were still wondering, actually exists and is coming at some point for PC and other unconfirmed platforms.
As shared by the developer, System Shock 3 “is the latest in the series of classic award-winning games is in development under the direction of industry legend Warren Spector and a dream team behind such landmarks as the original System Shock, Thief: The Dark Project and Deus Ex.” It’s not to be confused with System Shock Remastered.
Warren Spector had directed the original System Shock, so he is considered the father of the franchise even though the second chapter was held by another legend, Ken Levine, who used that experience to craft the BioShock franchise.
The gameplay trailer, which you can watch below, is grabbed from a pre-alpha build of the title, running evidently on PC. It’s a bit rough but does a decent work at showing how the first person view works, similarly to the original couple titles.
On top of that, we’re told that System Shock 3 will allow us to play and explore freely, choosing who we are and how we reach our final target between several sets of skills covering hackers, stealth specialists, melee masters, etc. We’ll be tasked with unraveling the mysteries of a space ship taken over by the evil AI SHODAN.
So, here’s the video: how does it look?
