Gotta catch all the Temtem?
If you’re in the mood to play a Pokemon-style game — but don’t necessarily want to play a direct Pokemon title — then Humble Bundle Presents might have what you need.
Humble Bundle has announced they’re publishing an adventure called Temtem, developed by Crema, who created games like Immortal Redneck, Drift Punk, and Oh My Goat.
Temtem will enter early access on Steam starting on Jan. 21 after going through a Kickstarter campaign, raising well over $550,000.
The game brings its own method of capturing and managing creatures in an MMO fashion. It’s “inspired by” Pokemon, but takes steps to avoid full-on any copyright issues.
After capturing the Temtem creatures, you use them to fight against rival “tamers” in battle, while making your way through the game’s open world. Players have access to a home they can customize, with various items they can add to it during their adventure. The game features support for a solo experience or cooperative.
The overall goal of the game is to explore the six islands of the Airborne Archipelago, finding various new species, and making a few friends along the way. From the sandy beaches of Deniz to the dangerous ash-covered fields of Tucma, there are miles of terrain to explore. Only three islands are available during the early access game.
Crema is preparing several stress tests to make the servers for the official launch of the early access. You can sign-up to try and assist the developers in their endeavors before the game launches.
