It looks like having god-like powers is allowing Thanos to show up in weird places. Hot on the heels of his shenanigans in Avengers: Infinity War, the big purple goon is making his way to Fortnite. Entertainment Weekly have reported on a crossover event between Epic and Marvel that will see a new game mode arrive, featuring Thanos himself. The new mode will arrive on May 8, along with all the Week 2 Challenges.

The Infinity Gauntlet Limited Time Mashup, as the new mode will be called, will play out like a standard round of Battle Royale. There is a twist however. Somewhere on the map will be the Infinity Gauntlet. The player who finds and equips it, well, they will transform into Thanos. Now, we can’t say what his abilities will be in game just yet, but it sure will be fun to find out.

This crossover seems to go a little deeper than a standard brand crossover. Apparently while filming the Infinity War movie, the Russo Brothers would end up playing Fortnite while on breaks.

“Over the past few months, while we were editing Infinity War, we’d take breaks to hop on and get in a few games. And then we started thinking, how cool would it be to have some kind of AvengersFortnite mashup? So we stalked Donald.”

Donald, in this case, is Donald Mustard, the worldwide creative director of Epic Games. So, it seems like at the very least, the people involved were all fans of each others creative efforts. You will be able to play the new mode, from tomorrow, on PS4, Xbox, PC, Mac and iOS. For those who may not get their hands on the Gauntlet themselves, there are sure to be a plethora of streams, videos and gifs. Let’s hope that winning a game as Thanos isn’t as simple as snapping your fingers.
