Everyone and their dog seems to be making a battle royale game these days. Thankfully, Landfall Games have stepped in to have some good old fashioned fun with the genre. Totally Accurate Battlegrounds is a goofy looking parody of the popular battle royale concept, and seems to lean pretty heavily into making fun of PUBG.

At the moment, the game is free. I really should mention that now, before I forget.

TABG is an April Fools joke, we’ve done one every year since 2016. We’ve previously combined one of our games with another genre or game. The first year we made Supertruck, a mix between the game Superhot and Clustertruck. Last year we made TABZ which is a mix of TABS and DAY-Z. We spend an enormous amount of lunch breaks and nights playing PUBG, this is an homage to a game we love. The first 100 hours after the release will be free for all and that means free forever, if you get the game before the first 100 hours end you will NOT have to pay to keep it. The 4.99$ price after the first 100 hours goes to preserving the game such as server costs etc.

For the next 3 days and 11 hours you can grab the game for free on Steam. If you are coming to this news post at some point in the future, you can check the developers handy Countdown Clock to find out how much time is left.

I have yet to play, running into some issues when I try to load it up. The devs have been active on Reddit, however, and apparently it is down to some pretty simple server shenanigans that they expect to have cleared up very quickly. I’d suggest you grab this one while it is free, simply because you never know which battle royale game is going to end up being the next big thing.
