A new game mode is set to be introduced to the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 private multiplayer beta tomorrow.
Treyarch hosted a livestream today to talk about feedback from the first weekend of the beta—and the developer revealed Heist, which will be available when the beta resumes tomorrow at 12pm CT.
In this game mode, there’s a bag of cash that acts as a neutral objective. Both teams will be competing in round-based gameplay with a single life, similar to Search and Destroy. Once you secure the bag of cash, you’ll try to take it to an extraction site at a random location where a helicopter will pick up the money. If you’re successful, you’ll win the round.
Unlike other multiplayer game modes, however, create-a-class won’t be available in Heist. You can select a Specialist, but everything you use in Heist must be earned by playing the game.
Another difference to traditional multiplayer game modes is that you can revive teammates. If a teammate takes fatal damage, instead of instantly dying, they’ll be knocked down and you’ll have the opportunity to try to revive them. Treyarch said that this is inspired by Blackout, the upcoming Call of Duty battle royale mode.
Heist is a “party game,” according to Treyarch, and it’s not intended to be a “competitive mode.” So when it becomes available tomorrow, Call of Duty fans will be eager to see what this unique experience is all about.
Treyarch also gave viewers their first look at Hacienda, a new map that will be available in the beta starting on Saturday. The developer plans to implement a ton of gameplay changes this weekend, too—so any Call of Duty fans who didn’t get to play the beta last weekend have a lot to look forward to.
The Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 private multiplayer beta will go live on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC tomorrow (Aug. 10) at 12pm CT.
