Ubisoft’s press conference has been an E3 mainstay for many years now, thanks to hugely successful franchises like Assassin’s Creed, Tom Clancy’s, Rabbids, Watch Dogs, and Far Cry.

Heading into 2018’s showing, Ubisoft had a few titles already out in the wild that players knew to expect, such as Beyond Good & Evil 2 and Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey. But were there any surprise announcements? Let’s take a look at what Ubi showed at this year’s E3.

Just Dance 2019

As only Ubisoft can, the show kicked off with an extravagant dance music performance featuring a marching band led by a panda, and some other insane costumes. The newest iteration of the motion dancing game is coming this October.

Beyond Good & Evil 2

A new trailer premiered for the cult classic sequel, and it featured pig people, a monkey, and space travel. The end of the trailer had the money shot, though, as it revealed a young Jade from the original game.

Actor Joseph Gordon Levitt then hit the stage to talk about a partnership between his company HitRECord and Ubisoft, which will allow creators to submit their own art for the game.

Rainbow Six Siege

Ubisoft announced that the popular game and esports title has reached 35 million players. Ten seasons worth of content in the game has included 40 new operators and 19 new maps. The company then debuted new footage from a Rainbow Six Siege esports documentary called “Another Mindset.” The full movie will be released later this summer.

Trials Rising

A Ubisoft developer made waves by driving into the theater venue on a motorcycle in an Evil Knievel outfit. He then climbed up on stage and “tripped” and destroyed a faux monitor setup for some laughs before revealing the next game in the physics-based racing and time trial motorcycle series. You can register for the game’s closed beta on its website, but the full game will release in Feb. 2019 on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch.

The Division 2

Initially revealed during the Xbox conference on Sunday, The Division 2 made another appearance in the form of a dramatic new cinematic trailer. In an effort to better the endgame, players will select a new role once the story is finished. These specializations will come with new playstyles and exclusive weapons while helping players synergize with their teammates thanks to new abilities.

Not only that, but eight-person endgame Raids were confirmed, as well as three completely free DLC episodes in the first year of the game.

The Division 2 will release for PC, PS4, and Xbox One on March 15, 2019.

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle

The band Critical Hit took the stage next to perform a song made for Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle’s Donkey Kong Adventure DLC. The DLC will be available on June 26 for everyone and on June 25 for season pass holders.

Skull & Bones

Ubisoft’s take on the seafaring pirates genre got a new trailer after its reveal at last year’s E3. An in-game feature called Fortunes will change how the game is played, including weather and other facets that will affect gameplay. Another new video showed off ship customization and pirate ship battle gameplay, and it’s looking pretty sweet. The game will release in 2019.

Transference

Elijah Wood’s project reappeared on E3’s stage, combining the storytelling techniques of both film and gaming in a new experience. It’s a first-person exploration game and psychological thriller in virtual reality and on traditional platforms. It will be available in fall 2018.

Last year’s newly revealed IP features space battles and exploration in an open world. A new video confirmed StarFox will be playable in the Nintendo Switch version of the game. The game will launch on October 16.

For Honor

The PC starter edition of For Honor is free for the next week on U-Play. A new trailer also revealed new content coming to the game called “Marching Fire,” which will include new character classes and a new four-vs-four multiplayer mode called Breach.

The Crew 2

An open beta for Ubisoft’s open-world driving, flying, and boating game can be pre-loaded now before its release on June 21.

Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey

The ancient Greece-based title is next in the long-standing series for Ubisoft, and it’s “an epic RPG experience,” according to the developer. The game features two playable characters—a man named Alexios or a woman named Kassandra, both grandchildren of the legendary Leonias—and the first choice in the game is to pick which one to play as. Also new to the series is dialogue options. The game will release on Oct. 5.
