We hear a lot of demand from PlayStation 4 owners for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, however there is no confirmation from Bluehole yet on whether or not PUBG will arrive on PS4.
In a recent interview with Inven Global, PUBG Corp. CEO Chang Han Kim said “we’d like to focus on completing the Xbox One PUBG for now. If we have the opportunity, the final goal would be to launch the title on every platform”
“Early Access on Steam and Game Preview on Xbox One are like pre-release, so they don’t have a restriction on quality. However, Sony is very strict about this. There were cases where a game took six months more to launch even when it was already completed.”
PUBG has been running successfully on the PC for a while now and recently it was launched for the Xbox One under the Game Preview program, which is like the Early Access on Steam. Under that Microsoft allowed in-development games on the store. Thus, even if the game had a lot of quality issues on the Xbox, Microsoft allowed it and the game very well on the Xbox One.
However, there seems to be an entirely different story with the PlayStation because, as Kim mentioned, Sony is very strict with the quality of the Game. Anyway, at least it is confirmed that there will be a PUBG for the PlayStation and other platforms, but not before they are finished polishing the Xbox One version.
