It’s a new year in Destiny 2, and hopes are high for improvements to the game’s sandbox, as well as ever-present wishes for better loot. Let’s take a look at Xur’s inventory for the first weekend of 2018.
It’s a new year in Destiny 2, and hopes are high for improvements to the game’s sandbox, as well as ever-present wishes for better loot. Let’s take a look at Xur’s inventory for the first weekend of 2018.
Where is Xur?
Xur is on Io, in his normal spot on the location. He’s tucked into a cave in the Giant’s Scar section of the map on the far right side of your screen.
This week, Xur has brought Merciless with him, and it’s one of the best Power weapons in the game. This fusion rifle has a special perk called Conserve Momentum, which means that non-lethal hits lessen the charge time of the weapon. This means that the more you shoot a high-health enemy (like a Strike boss or Emperor Calus in the Raid), the faster you can shoot, meaning your DPS will be way higher. It’s an insanely useful PvE weapon and it only costs 29 Legendary Shards.
For the Hunter, Xur has brought Young Ahamkara’s Spine. These gauntlets pair with the Gunslinger subclass, as they increase your Tripmine Grenade’s duration and marks enemies damaged by the blast. It’s on sale for 23 Legendary Shards.
This week’s Titan armor is Mask of the Quiet One, and it works pretty well with the Sentinel subclass. This helmet grants melee, grenade, and class ability energy when you take damage, and it also grants health regeneration on Void ability kills. It costs 23 Legendary Shards.
For Warlocks, this week’s armor is Wings of Sacred Dawn. This chest piece pairs with the Dawnblade subclass, as it will suspend you in midair for a short time when you aim your weapon. Precision hits while floating will extend the duration of the effect, and it’s on sale for 23 Legendary Shards.
As always, Xur is also selling a Fated Engram for 97 Legendary Shards. This engram will prevent you from receiving duplicate Exotics. He also has Three of Coins for 31 Legendary Shards, and this item will increase your chances of receiving an Exotic drop for four hours.
While none of these items are new from the Curse of Osiris expansion, they all have their uses, and can even help fill out some collections if you haven’t earned them yet.
