Yoshi for Nintendo Switch may be delayed. After the game was missing from Nintendo’s E3 2018 Nintendo Direct, Nintendo Life revealed that Yoshi’s U.K. Nintendo eShop listing was changed to 2019.

While Yoshi wasn’t showcased in E3’s Nintendo Direct, Nintendo of America’s Director of Product Marketing Bill Trinen reiterated that Yoshi is still in development and that Nintendo will “have updates later this year” on the game, according to Kotaku.

It remains unclear if Yoshi’s release date was actually changed, although Kotaku speculates that the game’s cardboard aesthetic means Nintendo could “be connecting the game to its Labo program” down the road.

The new Yoshi title first debuted at Nintendo’s E3 press conference in 2017. Yoshi is set in a miniature, diorama world that builds on the craft aesthetic familiar in other Yoshi games from Nintendo. The game was expected to be released sometime in 2018 by developer Good-Feel, and the game’s campaign can be played as single-player or with two players working together simultaneously once it launches.

Yoshi’s Woolly World is the last game to be released as part of the Yoshi franchise. In Woolly World, every creature on Craft Island is turned into little bundles of yarn, and Yoshi is tasked with restoring the island to its regular state. Yoshi’s Woolly World launched in June 2015 by Good-Feel on Nintendo 3DS and the Wii U. In the meantime, expect more news on Yoshi’s Nintendo Switch debut during the coming year ahead.
