A new PS5 trailer has revealed release windows for some of the most anticipated first-party games coming in 2021. The trailer doesn’t include new footage or unannounced game but provides a deeper look into when they are releasing next year.
According to the details in the ad, Gran Turismo Sport 7, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, and Returnal are said to be “anticipated” for the “first half 2021.”
While Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is confirmed to be a launch window game for the next PlayStation console, it is quite surprising to see Gran Turismo 7 already about to release. Instead, Horizon: Forbidden West is reported to be “anticipated second half 2021,” which is later than expected.
The games included in the trailer were all scheduled for the first half of 2021 since they had been revealed in a PlayStation 5 showcase dedicated exclusively to that window. However, the new trailer is seemingly suggesting that the PS5 lineup might have seen some re-positioning, perhaps to better fit the scope of certain games.
Horizon: Forbidden West might have been slightly delayed to grant PS4 a longer life cycle into next year, as it was confirmed the title is also coming to the current-gen platform.
The ad confirms that Demon’s Souls and Marvel’s Spider-Man Miles Morales are releasing on PS5’s day one, slated for November 12.
