According to a new report, Electronic Arts has cancelled yet another Star Wars video game after the closure of Visceral Games.
The title in question is, or better ‘was’, the open world game by EA Vancouver, which was partially based on Visceral assets.
Based on the intel gathered by Kotaku, the game was codenamed “Orca” and was “very early in development.”
This would be the main reason behind the cancellation, since EA wanted something Star Wars-based earlier than the scheduled release window planned for Orca.
The title would “involve playing as a scoundrel or bounty hunter who could explore various open world planets and work with different factions across the Star Wars universe.”
A smaller Star Wars project will get its place and will release around 2020. There were no lay-offs at the developer.
The existence of Orca was revealed back in October 2017, when Visceral Games and its Ragtag project were closed, but unfortunately it seems it ended down the same path.
