Fallout 76 will be the first online experience by Bethesda Game Studios, and this is leading people to be quite worried about what could come out of it. Well, the news is Bethesda Game Studios is worried, too.
As revealed by director Todd Howard, Bethesda Game Studios has a good share of concern about the way Fallout 76 could work in terms of both gameplay and people reception, but really wanted to try something new like this.
“We had the idea, and for a while now we’ve been thinking we should try it. We are sometimes afraid of doing it, as much as our fans are afraid of us doing it. But we’ve got to try new things,” Howard told The Guardian.
Anyway, as he had already done in a previous round of interviews, he explained that no matter how successful the game will turn out to be, Fallout 76 and the fact it is a predominantly online experience won’t affect the series’ single-player nature.
“We want to be careful with our fans and other people who ask, ‘Is this what Fallout is forever now?’. It’s clearly not. It’s definitely its own thing.”
Fallout 76 is releasing November 14, 2018 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. A beta is planned for Xbox One first during the summer.
