Sony Bend’s Days Gone is now the talk of the town all thanks to the GameInformer. The game is the Cover Story of GameInformer’s June 2018 issue. The studio has shared a ton of interesting Days Gone information to GI and we covered it in our post: Days Gone Details From GameInformer: Story, Zombie Hoard, Upgradeable Bike. Today, we are going to talk about Creative Director John Garvin comment on the query: what does he feel about Days Gone Comparison with Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us?

Days Gone Dev Comment On The Last of Us Comparison

When asked by our friend at GameInformer in the Rapid-fire video interview segment, John Garvin stated that he is indeed “sick of The Last of Us comparisons” and added that the only similarity between the two games is that they are “third-person action adventure where you’re killing creatures”.

So there you have it, folks, John Garvin has settled the Days Gone vs The Last of Us comparison topic once and for all.

In the same interview, Garvin revealed that Days Gone will run at 30FPS on both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro. The Photo Mode implementation is yet to be looked into (in my opinion this is a sure and shot thing that will be added to the game but post-launch like in the case of Sony Santa Monica’s God of War).

Lastly, Garvin confirmed that Days Gone will not have a big showing at PlayStation E3 2018 press conference. It seems like they are keeping the big showing reserved for PlayStation Experience which is scheduled to take place in December 2018. That would be an appropriate time as well considering the fact that the game is scheduled to launch in the early part of 2019 (previously it was scheduled to launch in 2018).
